"Otoko-noko" (男の娘) literally means Feminine-males in Japanese culture. The term is introduced in the internet boom of the 2000s but had its roots far earlier in the male actors playing feminine-roles in Japan, such as onnagato in kabuki theater, and contemporary entertainment by cross-dressing comedians such as Akihiro Miwa.
